Matthew Masterton

My name is Matthew Masterton and I am our Studio Manager and Senior Piercer here at The Fall Tattooing & Piercing. I have studied extensively, beginning my piercing apprenticeship In Carlisle, Northern England in 2010, as well as, attending both intermediate and advanced classes in San Francisco with Fakir body piercing intensives. 

I have over 15 years of experience in Body Piercing and continue to educate myself by attending the annual association of professional piercers conference in Las Vegas, as well as Camp APP in Atlanta Georgia and most recently the Canadian Piercing education series in Victoria, BC.

I am honoured to have travelled to work in world renowned studios in the UK and closer to home in Montreal, but have found my home with The Fall right here in Vancouver where I have now lived for ten years as of April 2026. 

I enjoy all areas of piercing, although intimate work does have a special place in my heart because I get to see how empowered people of all genders become immediately afterwards. All ear curation projects are also super fun!!

When not at work I enjoy reading, spending time with my two cats (Trevor and Tyrone- both named after characters in Coronation Street) and renovating our home/ going on long walks and attending Drag shows on Davie Street with my Husband.
